Day 28: Catching up with ex-department mates over lunch to close the year at the office – it’s pleasantly surreal to see how far the bunch of us who started about the same time together how actually come in the past 7 (omg!) years.

Day 29: Alternating between reading a good book, sleeping and watching Bing Bang Theory while nursing a really bad case of the flu.

Day 30: Spa yo!

Day 24: Having Christmas Eve dinner in the company of good friends and conspiring to see one of them through to the next stage of her life. Congratulations, shinsetsu11! One step closer to the happily ever after for our dearest GSC.

Day 25: Pouring over a good mystery book whilst being serenaded with Christmas carols by the richly-voiced Michael Buble. It’s been awhile since I’ve indulged myself in an entire day of reading and listening to music, two of my most favourite activities…making it all the more special.

Working during a heavy downpour – I find that the steady, hypnotic sound of rainfall not only puts me into a zen state (and my office into a comfortable silence), but more importantly, it helps to kick my concentration into high-gear. Also, it makes me thankful that I’m not part of the crawling KL traffic.

Waking up to a message from my cousin that my adorable toddler nephew had, the night before, pointed me out from a photo and called out my name (or rather, as best a version of it as an 18-month old can) – *muACkS!* *MUaCkS!* my darling ninja turtle! Much love, your Auntie ‘G’ ^_^

Attending a fancy, self-organised major corporate event – I have never been so proud to belong to such a distinguished entity until today, when all the different-sized fishes within the organisation came together to provide the necessary manpower, support and cheer to make the event and more importantly, the unveiled products, a huge success.

Listening to my mom’s old Michael Bolton – Greatest Hits CD. I forgot just how soothing those songs are to the ear and how it’s just right for winding down before going to bed.

It also brings back memories of when I was 10-years-old in Nashville, Tennessee being serenaded to sleep to the very same album (among others), snuggled safely under the covers during those cold autumn/winter nights. I didn’t know it then, but those 2 years would end up to be one of the best adventures of my life.
